IWC Aquatimer "Expedition Jacques-Yves Cousteau" (Call me by my name)
“I hope that this continent, the last land on Earth to be encroached upon by humans, will be the first that humans will preserve for the sake of our descendants’ future.”

Oscar-winning underwater documentaries are not something you see every day. "The Silent World" was produced by a legendary figure, Jacques-Yves Cousteau—a soldier, author, inventor, photographer, and filmmaker. These professions might seem unrelated, but the "underwater world" is what defined this man. The documentaries he created not only introduced us to the deep sea but also continue to resonate with our concerns regarding today’s marine environment.
His passion for the blue world led Cousteau, at age 64, to establish the Cousteau Society to support education and research on the marine environment. He also launched the "Rediscovery of the World" research project to address every issue concerning the health of water sources everywhere.
This man dedicated his entire life to the vast ocean, a truly admirable feat. It is no surprise that IWC would honor Jacques-Yves Cousteau as part of the world of horology.

Featuring the serrated bezel characteristic of the IWC Aquatimer, it has a blue sunburst dial with index markers, a date display at 3 o'clock, a 42mm case, and a 30120 calibre movement with a 42-hour power reserve. The case back is engraved with the portrait of Captain Jacques-Yves Cousteau to pay tribute to his life's dedication to the sea.
