Following the release of the blockbuster trilogy finale, "The Dark Knight Rises" (2012), where visionary director Christopher Nolan reinvented the superhero genre to overwhelming acclaim, who knew that a year later, Rolex would make history in the watch industry with the Rolex GMT-Master II Ref.116710BLNR, better known to everyone as the "Batman."

Although this watch wasn't created to fight villains, it created just as much of a stir as any hero in the film industry. With its unique blue-and-black ceramic bezel—the very first instance where Rolex successfully pioneered a dual-color ceramic bezel—it features a GMT function designed as a navigation tool for professional world travelers. The case is crafted from 904L stainless steel, with polished center links on the bracelet adding a touch of luxury, reminiscent of the impeccably dapper Bruce Wayne.

The watch is powered by the Calibre 3186 movement with a 50-hour power reserve. With the features Rolex bestowed upon this "Batman," it is easy for any wearer to fall in love. In 2019, Rolex produced an updated version of the Batman, retaining the iconic blue-and-black bezel that symbolizes the hero for many, but adding a Jubilee bracelet, the Caliber 3285 movement, a 40mm case size, and an increased 70-hour power reserve.
