Valentin Watch: Glashütte Original PanoMatic Luna

     Even the world of time itself joins in the celebrations of February. Glashütte Original, the German brand, presents the special PanoMatic Luna Limited Edition. It stands out in purple hues, shimmering with luxurious gems, and a new dial pattern that captures the essence of love so well that Cupid might consider swapping his arrows for a timepiece instead.

These classic lyrics are heard throughout every generation during Valentine's season. The iconic sounds and melodies of The Beatles seem to emanate from this watch, which is filled with an atmosphere of love. The natural white mother-of-pearl dial is as soft as clouds, while the shimmering light from the exquisite diamonds set around the case rivals the sparkle in the eyes of lovers gazing at one another.

The dial features the PanoMatic layout, presented through an oval date window that separates the digits using two date discs, along with water-transfer printing of sweet purple Arabic numerals onto the mother-of-pearl. On the off-center main dial, the flowing tails of the numerals cascade to form a subtle heart shape, further emphasized by diamond-set baton indices that highlight the curves of the heart. Serving as witnesses of love are the elegant Dauphine hands, representing the presence of love in every moment of life.

The small seconds sub-dial is positioned quietly to the south of the main dial, accompanied by a stylishly designed date window. This "timepiece of love" is made even more romantic by the moon phase display, featuring graceful curves and a silver-white tone that showcases a crescent moon, looking incredibly gentle and pleasing to the eye. All of this beauty is crafted by master artisans in Pforzheim, a city renowned for producing some of the world's most beautiful and classic watch faces.

It uses the in-house automatic Cal. 90-12 movement, uniquely designed and finished with a 'Perlage' pattern and featuring 47 jewels to preserve this symbol of love for a long time. The beautiful medium-sized oscillating weight is skeletonized and meticulously weighted with gold. A lovely purple alligator leather strap acts as the bond of love that wraps around your special someone's wrist, reminding them of you—the giver—every time they check the time. All of this made for the watch of the month of love back in 2020; it is so captivating that I can't wait to see the witness of love for this year!
