A dog waits for its master under a willow tree; a Tang dynasty lady reclines on a rock, her “lotus petal” feet—popular of the era—pointing skyward without hesitation, her gaze fixed on the actions of the man before her in anticipation. Minor details are incorporated flawlessly, including the Chinese pavilion and lion-adorned pillars, seamlessly blending the colors of the East onto a timepiece from the West.
